Many famous Steak House restaurants owe their existence to this iconic steak! That pretty much says it all. Not much else to add to this description so how about a little history lesson!

Why is it called a New York strip? Delmonico's, a New York City restaurant founded in 1827, offered the New York strip steak as its signature dish and called it the Delmonico steak. Because the restaurant was located in New York City, this strip steak is often referred to as a New York strip steak.
